Two super sentences

I came across these two highly complicated sentences in my reading. They are enough to demonstrate the power of the Turkish language:

'On adım ötede en büyük hürriyetlere götüren denizi dinlemek ve sonra aradaki kalın kale duvarlarına gözleri dikerek bakmağa, denizi yalnız muhayyelede görmeğe mecbur kalmak az azap mıdır?'

'Bahçede insanın ayak ucuna inerek ekmek kırıntılarını toplayan ve aynı hürriyetsiz topraklarda sağa sola adım atan bir kuşun bir kanat vuruşuyla bu duvarları aşarak serbestliklerle kucaklaşmağa gittiğini görmektense nefes almaktan başka hürriyeti hatırlatacak hiç bir şey bulunmıyan bir yerde kapanmak daha iyi değil midir?'

Translation:

'Is it not a bit of a torture to listen to the sea which leads to boundless (lit. biggest) freedom at just ten steps away, and then to be forced to look at the thick brick wall in between with adjusted eyes, and to watch the sea only in imagination?'

'If one has to see a bird which comes down to people's feet to collect bread crumbs in the garden, and which, fidgeting in the same place without freedom, overcomes the walls and flies to embrace freedom with only one stroke of wings, then is it not better to be imprisoned in a place where nothing is to be found and no freedom other than that of breathing is to be reminded?'
